The certified scope includes the development, manufacturing and sales of sensors, sensor systems and accessories.

ATEX certification for hazardous areas

Selected pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters and level probes are covered by EU-Type Examination Certificate IBExU10ATEX1073, Issue 2.

The certificate was issued by IBExU Institut für Sicherheitstechnik GmbH, notified body number 0637, in accordance with Directive 2014/34/EU for equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

The certification applies only to the product models, technical configurations, markings and operating conditions specified in the certificate and its schedule.

ATEX production quality assurance

PRIGNITZ Mikrosystemtechnik also publishes ATEX Quality Assurance Notification IBExU22ATEXQ006, which relates to the quality assurance system used for the production of ATEX-certified equipment.

The currently published document was valid until 13 April 2025. It is therefore provided as a reference document and must not be interpreted as confirmation of the current certification status.

CSA certification for Canada and the United States

Selected pressure and temperature transmitter variants are certified by CSA Group for use in hazardous locations in Canada and the United States.

Depending on the product version, the available certifications include:

• Non-sparking Ex nA variants
• Explosion-proof Ex d variants
• Intrinsically safe Ex i variants

The applicable hazardous-location class, division, zone, gas group, temperature class and ambient temperature range are defined in the corresponding CSA certificate.

Type approval for hydrogen components

Selected transmitters from the PM P-xxxx-H series hold an EC type approval issued for a hydrogen component under Regulation EC No 79/2009, as implemented by Regulation EU No 406/2010.

The approval applies only to the defined product type and technical configurations specified in the approval documentation. Because the approval was issued under an earlier regulatory framework, its applicability must be confirmed for the selected sensor configuration, application and target market.
